Authorities in Kwekwe District are investigating a disturbing incident at Mbizo High School, in which a female student was caught with a mobile phone full of pornogrɑphic material. The student reportedly shared the expl!cit content with other students, especially female learners.
The Chairperson of the Kwekwe District Child Protection Committee (CPC), Mr. Reason Machina, confirmed the incident and stated that all relevant authorities, including the police, social development, and Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, are leading the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns about the rise of ƨǝxuɑl offences among young people, particularly due to drug and substance abuse. Authorities have warned that such developments, coupled with drug and substance abuse, are fueling bullying and ƨǝxuɑl abuse cases among girls.
This incident highlights the importance of monitoring children’s behaviour, especially when it comes to mobile phone and internet usage. Parents and guardians must take an active role in supervising their children’s online activity and ensure that they are not exposed to explicit content.
