Tragic football pitch assault leaves young man dead in Kadoma
In a shocking incident that has rocked the Kadoma community, a 22-year-old man has tragically lost his life following an altercation on a local football pitch. The police have launched a manhunt for one of the suspects involved in the fatal assault.
According to the investigators, the incident occurred on June 3rd at the Georgia Farm football grounds in Kadoma. Two teenagers, aged 17 and 19, were reportedly at the football pitch when an undisclosed confrontation arose with the victim, Fradias Dube.
The situation quickly escalated, with the two young suspects allegedly taking turns assaulting Dube. One of them, 19-year-old Happyson Makoni, is said to have struck the victim on the head with an empty beer bottle. Dube was rushed to the Kadoma Hospital but succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.
Makoni is currently on the run and the police are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in his apprehension. The other teenage suspect, aged 17, remains in custody as the investigation continues.
This tragic incident has left the community in Kadoma reeling, with many expressing shock and sadness over the senseless loss of a young life. Residents are calling for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure such acts of violence do not happen again in their neighbourhood.
