Harare lawyer and Yadah FC chairman Mr Everson Chatambudza has distanced himself from events unfolding in Rwanda where certain individuals reportedly went to demand assistance from the Zimbabwean embassy after claiming to have travelled on the national team ticket.
Mr Chatambudza, who was said to be part of the seven individuals who begged for accommodation from the Zimbabwean embassy in Rwanda, refuted claims that he was part of the ‘scam’.
He said he never travelled to Rwanda as was being reported.
Mr Chatambudza said he was forced to cancel his Rwandan trip at the eleventh hour after the Premier Soccer League announced that local teams will play their games as scheduled during the weekend.
His team, Yadah FC, is playing against Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday.
Mr Chatambudza rubbished the reports as unfounded and false.
“I had plans to travel to Rwanda but cancelled after PSL announced that games will be played as scheduled and my team is playing at the weekend.
“Those reports are unfounded and I never sent anyone to Rwanda,” he said.
