MUTARE’S football fraternity has plunged into mourning following the untimely death of Buffaloes player-turned-coach, Ephraim Masakure yesterday night.
Although details surrounding the cause of his death are still sketchy, the local football
fraternity clogged the social media platforms with messages mourning the late respected coach.
Yesteryear midfield genius, Nyarai “Nyangwe” Masunde attributed the success of his football career to the late Masakure.
“In coach Ephraim Masakure, we have lost a coach, brother and father. He is the one who took us from the streets and introduced us to the late Three Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General Gibbs Kachana until we got recruited into the army. He is the one who made the little we are today, myself, the late Allan Mutasa, Misheck Sunguro, Shepherd Nkata and Dani Chinowawa. He is the one who took us from the streets as young boys,” said Masunde.
Mourners are gathered at Masakure’s Chisamba Section home in Sakubva, Mutare.
