In a concerning turn of events, police in Colleen Bawn are investigating a brazen robbery that occurred at a residence in the Khayelitsha Compound in the early hours of June 12th.
According to reports, three unknown suspects, armed with knives and a pistol, targeted the home around 2:00 AM. The assailants pounced on the unsuspecting victims, making off with a staggering ZAR 121,050 in cash, as well as three cellphones.
During the violent ordeal, one of the victims was stabbed in the thigh by the knife-wielding perpetrators. The suspects then made their escape from the scene.
In a separate incident, a security company in Chipinge fell victim to a similar armed robbery. On June 11th, 10 unknown suspects overpowered and disarmed three security guards, making off with two pistols and a revolver, all of which were loaded with five rounds each.
The Colleen Bawn and Chipinge police have launched investigations into both cases, urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the suspects. Citizens are encouraged to report any details to their nearest police station.
