In a chilling turn of events, a 37-year-old woman from Zvimba has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly poisoning food meant for her own daughter’s peers at a local primary school.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the accused individual is said to have prepared food laced with poison and instructed her daughter to distribute it to her classmates at Matoranhimbe Primary School. As a result, six children reportedly consumed the tainted food and subsequently suffered severe stomach complications.
The woman has been arraigned before the Chinhoyi Magistrates Court to face the attempted murder charges. She was remanded in custody to the 20th of June for bail application.
