In a tragic turn of events, a devastating head-on collision along the Mutare-Juliasdale Road has claimed the lives of four individuals and left seven others injured. The accident occurred on June 4th, 2024, at the 48km peg of the road.
According to reports, a Ford Ranger Black Double Cab with three passengers on board, bearing registration number AFK 8349, collided head-on with a Black Honda Fit, registration number AFE 8211, which had six passengers. The impact of the collision was devastating, resulting in the immediate deaths of four people.
The bodies of the victims were subsequently transported to the Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital mortuary, while the seven injured individuals were admitted to the same hospital for medical treatment.
The Zimbabwean Republic Police (ZRP) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, which has once again highlighted the need for increased road safety measures and driver awareness. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, adhere to traffic rules, and prioritize the safety of all road users.
