The Commissioner-General of Police, Tandabantu Godwin Matanga, has announced the promotion of several senior officers upon their retirement. These promotions come under the authority of His Excellency, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Head of State and Government, and Commander-In-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

ZIMBABWE REPUBLIC POLICE: 2024 PROMOTION EXERCISE OF RETIRING AND RETIRED SENIOR OFFICERS
The Commissioner-General of Police, Tandabantu Godwin Matanga advices the public that His Excellency, President of the Republic Of Zimbabwe, Head of State and Government and Commander-In-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has promoted the following senior officers upon retirement.
The senior officers promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner-General are as listed:-
Commissioner Mahoya David
Commissioner Makodza Erasmus
Commissioner Mubemi Kudakwashe
Commissioner Makotose Priscilla
Commissioner Muzah Winston
Commissioner Basera Richard Mahoya
Meanwhile, twelve (12) retiring Assistant Commissioners have been elevated to the rank of Commissioner. These are:-
Assistant Commissioner Mundondwa Simon
Assistant Commissioner Makone Sipo James
Assistant Commissioner Madondo Tadeus
Assistant Commissioner Mugonda George
Assistant Commissioner Govo Johannes Chinembiri
Assistant Commissioner Zimbwa Innocent
Assistant Commissioner Zimbwa Godfrey
Assistant Commissioner Mubaiwa Richard
Assistant Commissioner Chitombo Blessing
Assistant Commissioner Moyo Obeylaw
Assistant Commissioner Wilson Engelbert Chamunorwa Assistant Commissioner Dube Shelton
A total of 16 retiring Chief Superintendents were conferred with rank of Assistant Commissioner while, 33 retiring Superintendents were conferred with rank of Chief Superintendent.
The promotions are in line with the Government’s vision 2030.
