POPULAR radio pastor, pastor Mxolisi “Striker” Shange survived a gun shooting shortly after a church service on Sunday, 26 May.

The pastor, known for his uplifting sermons on Vibes FM, almost died near his home in Ntuzuma, Durban.

This happened after he finished leading a worship service at Tower of Faith Ministry International in Richmond Farm, KwaMashu.

He said while he was driving, two unknown men appeared from nowhere, said nothing and the next thing, a hail of bullets was fired at him.

The 41-year-old pastor told Daily Sun he suffered gunshot wounds and had to be rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

“I’m still confused about what had happened. Why was I shot because it was not robbery?” Pastor Striker asked.

“They didn’t take anything. I’m still asking myself who wants to kill a man of God. They shot at the driver’s door. It seemed they wanted to kill me. Fortunately, as much I’m wounded, I’m not critical.”

He said he won’t be intimidated by criminals.

The pastor thanked God that he survived the shooting and said he’ll continue preaching the word.

“I’ll keep praying and continue using the same church without intimidation. I’m a man of God, and there no weapon set against men shall prosper,” he said.

KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda told Daily Sun police in Ntuzuma are investigating a case of attempted murder after a 41-year-old man was allegedly shot at on Sunday, 26 May.

“It’s alleged that the victim was on his driveway out of his home at B Section in Ntuzuma, and as he approached Mpisi Road, two men opened fire at his vehicle, and he sustained a gunshot wound on his upper shoulder.

“The motive for the shooting is unknown, and the suspects haven’t been identified,” he said. Daily Sun.
