A 22-YEAR-OLD man from Orange Farm Extension One, south of Joburg, is living in fear of his alleged rapist who has not yet been arrested, three months after the incident.

The incident happened on 10 February after a funeral service the boy had attended not far from home.

It’s alleged the suspect asked the 22-year-old to accompany him to buy some drinks, but on their way, the suspect changed his mind and allegedly suggested they start at his place.

“When we arrived at his house, he became aggressive. He pushed me against the wall, beating me up, He undressed and raped me,” said the 22-year-old victim.

According to the boy’s father, his son is always afraid and hides his face when he’s out in the streets.

“He fears the man will repeat what he did to him or kill him as he knows my son has opened a case against him. My son is not like other kids, he’s slow in character, and the incident made him worse.

“Every day, I get worried about what my son will end up doing to himself and the monster is still a free man, three months later. This despite my son opening a rape case at Orange Farm Police Station. He’s attending counselling sessions, but it would be much better if the suspect gets arrested. I’m angry that another man sexually assaulted my son. I want justice for him,” said the angry dad.

Some residents, speaking to Daily Sun, said the suspect, aged between 39 and 43, targets his victims at funerals, parties, and taverns.

His victims are allegedly young boys who can’t stand up for themselves.

“Many of his victims don’t speak out as they wake up not knowing what happened because he makes sure he buys them alcohol. Sometimes, he drugs them and takes them to his house,” said one resident who knows the suspect.

Gauteng police spokeswoman Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said a case of ƨǝxual assault has been opened, and police are investigating. Daily Sun.
