Masvingo police seize 5kg of marijuana, arrest two
Police in Masvingo have arrested two individuals in connection with the unlawful possession of 5 kilograms of marijuana.
On May 18, 2024, officers intercepted a Toyota Fun Cargo vehicle at the 10-kilometer mark along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road. The driver, 46-year-old Nomore Shoko, and the passenger, 35-year-old Merjury Liba, were taken into custody.
According to the police report, the marijuana was discovered in two plastic bags that were hidden in Liba’s handbag. The total weight of the seized drugs was 5 kilograms.
Shoko and Liba are currently being held in police cells and are expected to appear in court in the coming days to face charges related to the possession of dangerous drugs.
The police have urged members of the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities to the authorities.
