MASKANDI musician Masinga is recovering in the hospital after he was stabbed allegedly by his ex-girlfriend, who refused to be dumped.
Masinga (34), whose real name is Lindelani Dumakude from Msinga, KZN midlands, said when he is discharged from the hospital, he will open an attempted murder case against his ex-girlfriend.
He said his ex-girlfriend stabbed him on Sunday, 28 April, in Germiston after he ended his allegedly toxic love relationship with her.
Masinga, who is also known as Sgqoko Sembongolo, said his wound was deep, and the knife nearly stabbed his heart and sent him into the early grave.
He said his girlfriend was not accepting that he had dumped her, and after he dumped her, she was calling him and insulting him before she stabbed him.
“After my performance in one of the events in Germiston, on Sunday, 28 April, I returned to where I stayed.
“After I packed my car, I heard someone opening the car’s door, and it was his ex-girlfriend. While I was still confused about what was going on, she stabbed me, aiming at my heart,” he said.
Masinga, known for his songs like Emagcekeni, said now he wants nothing to do with his ex-girlfriend.
“As soon as I’m discharged, I will open the attempted murder case against her and stay away from her,” he said.
Masinga added that he was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and released on Thursday, but he felt severe pain, and he was re-admitted again on Thursday, 9 May.
