Tragic collision claims three lives and injures three on Harare-Mutare Road
In a devastating incident on the Harare-Mutare Road, three individuals lost their lives while three others sustained injuries in a fatal road traffic accident. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that the collision occurred when a Honda Fit carrying five passengers collided with a Toyota D4D vehicle at the 191-kilometer mark on May 8, 2024, around 7:00 p.m.
The victims’ bodies were transported to Rusape General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examinations, while the injured individuals are currently receiving medical care at the same hospital.
According to the ZRP, the tragic accident unfolded when the Honda Fit, with five passengers on board, collided with the Toyota D4D. The collision occurred in a side-swipe manner, resulting in the loss of three lives and causing injuries to three individuals.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident in which three people were killed whilst three others were injured when a Honda Fit vehicle with five passengers on board, side swiped with a Toyota D4D vehicle with no passengers on board at the 191 kilometre peg along Harare-Mutare Road on 08/05/2024 at around 1900 hours.
“The bodies of the victims were taken to Rusape General Hospital mortuary for post mortem whilst the injured are admitted at the same hospital,” reads the statement.
