A fatal road traffic accident on the Gweru-Shurugwi Road has left one person dead and 29 others injured. The incident occurred on 5th May 2024 at the 6 km peg, prompting a thorough investigation by the Gweru police.
The collision involved two white Nissan Caravan Kombis, each carrying 18 passengers. It was a devastating side swipe that turned a routine journey into a nightmare.

“Police in Gweru are investigating a fatal road traffic accident which occurred at the 6 km peg along Gweru-Shurugwi Road on 05/05/24. One person died while 29 others were injured when a White Nissan Caravan Kombi with 18 passengers on board was involved in a side swipe with another White Nissan Caravan Kombi with 18 passengers on board.
“The body of the victim was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem while the injured are admitted at the same Hospital,” reads the statement.
