IN the wake of Zimbabwe’s introduction of the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), Zim dancehall artists, who include Ras Caleb and Mbida D, have taken centre in championing the new currency.

Ras Caleb was the first to drop his song ‘ZiG Mari,’ which speaks about hope and optimism for the new money.

The song is making waves and has led to him receiving an Aqua car and US$2 000 in cash from businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo.

Rising chanter Mbida D’s song, ‘ZiG Money’ has also grabbed the spotlight.

The song was produced by Genius Mintol.

“I see music as a powerful tool for spreading awareness and instilling confidence in the ZiG, highlighting the critical role every citizen plays in its success,” said Mbida D.

“As Zimbabwe strides towards economic stability, fueled by the introduction of the ZIG, the voices of artists serve as a rallying cry for a brighter tomorrow.”

Mbida D’s song was released three days ago and it is meant to instill confidence among the people that the ZiG is a currency they should be proud of. HMetro.
