Bindura man faces domestic violence charges after scalding brother over cup of beans
A Bindura man found himself in court last week on charges of domestic violence after scalding his younger brother with hot water during a heated dispute over a cup of beans. The accused, Tinashe Gwese (28), pleaded not guilty and has been remanded in custody pending trial.
According to the prosecution led by Carson Kundiona, the incident occurred on March 30 when Tinashe arrived home late and discovered his brother, Panashe (24), cooking beans. Tinashe reportedly helped himself to some beans from the pot on the stove, which sparked a confrontation between the siblings.
In the midst of the argument, Tinashe allegedly poured scalding hot water on Panashe, causing him to suffer blistering injuries. As a result, a police report was filed, leading to Tinashe’s subsequent arrest.
Tinashe’s trial is set for tomorrow as he remains in custody.
