Police seek assistance in fatal hit-and-run incident on Chivhu-Nyazura Road
In a tragic incident on April 5, 2024, a 56-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist. The incident took place near Chizema Bus Stop at the 111km peg along the Chivhu-Nyazura Road. Authorities have released a statement, urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify and apprehend the responsible party.
According to the police, the accident occurred when the unidentified motorist collided with the victim, leading to his immediate death. Shockingly, the driver did not stop at the scene and fled from the location. The police are now conducting an investigation into the incident.
“Police in Buhera are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a fatal hit and run road traffic accident in which a man (56) died on the spot after being hit by an unknown motorist at the 111-kilometre peg along Chivhu –Nyazura Road, near Chizema Bus Stop, on 05/04/24. The motorist did not stop after the accident,” reads the police statement.
