In a fortunate incident on Wednesday, twenty passengers narrowly escaped a tragic fate as a Timboon bus they were travelling on caught fire due to a suspected electrical fault. The incident occurred at the 180km mark along the Harare-Chirundu Highway.
As per the police report, the driver became alerted to smoke emerging from the engine compartment, which was visible through the gear lever. Within moments, the bus became engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, all the passengers and bus crew managed to evacuate the vehicle unharmed, averting any injuries or casualties.
