Friends brutally killed at Chinhoyi Farm: Suspect appears in court
In a tragic incident that occurred last year, two friends were mercilessly attacked and killed at a farm in Chinhoyi. The suspect, identified as Peter Thomas (20), has finally made his appearance in court, facing two charges of murder.
According to court proceedings, the events unfolded in September when Joshua Kadungure visited Peter at his residence in River Range Village, Chinhoyi. Joshua had come to inquire about a shovel he had lent to Peter previously.
Peter vehemently denied borrowing the shovel from Joshua, leading to a heated argument that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. Overpowered by Joshua, Peter called for assistance from his father, Jealous Thomas, who emerged from a hut armed with an axe and joined the fray.
In a shocking act of violence, Peter wielded the axe, striking Joshua three times on the head, causing him to lose consciousness and ultimately resulting in his death. Another friend of Joshua, known only as Nyanguwo, arrived at the scene and was also targeted by Peter. With the same axe, Peter repeatedly struck Nyanguwo on the head until he succumbed to his injuries.
The court has set Peter’s next appearance for April 9 as the legal proceedings continue. The community remains shaken by this senseless act of violence that claimed the lives of two friends.
