A 28-year-old man from Matobo has been sentenced to 60 years for repeatedly raping a mentally challenged 17-year-old niece.
He appeared before Gwanda magistrate Musaiona Shotgame. Adolf Dube resides at Sibonginkosi Dube’s homestead, Chief Masuku at Silozwi area in Matobo. The victim is of Tombo Village, Matobo.
According to the State, in 2020 during the day Dube found the juvinile cleaning his bedroom and threatened to kill her, forcibly removed her clothes and had intercourse without her consent.
Using the same mode of operation, Dube would follow the girl as she went to fetch water, coming from church and rape her in her bedroom.
Prosecutor Karen Gungani, told the court that Dube would threaten his niece not make noise and remove her clothes in all counts.
