Zanu PF provincial youth league launches housing project for 3,600 youths in Chipinge

Chipinge, Manicaland province, is set to witness a groundbreaking residential stands project initiated by the Zanu PF provincial youth league, benefiting a total of 3,600 young individuals.

The project was officially inaugurated by Youth Minister Tino Machakaire, represented by Deputy Minister Kudakwashe Mupamhanga, earlier this week.

Initially perceived as a jest, the ambitious housing endeavour quickly became a reality, drawing praise from Mupamhanga, who emphasized the importance of replicating such initiatives across all provinces. He affirmed the government’s commitment to transitioning from elections to a phase of comprehensive development under President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership.

To secure their residential stands, the participating youths were required to make a payment of US$260 each as survey funds to the Chipinge Town Council. Presently, approximately 500 residential stands have been allocated.

James Mutemera, the town secretary, assured transparency in handling the project’s funds and stressed the importance of beneficiaries adhering to council policies during the interview process. He urged the youths to promptly contribute the title surveying funds, enabling them to commence development on their respective stands.

EmpowerBank CEO Shadreck Mhembere pledged support in assisting the youths with building their homes, expressing a commitment to President Mnangagwa’s vision for national development by extending aid beyond Manicaland province.

Stanley Sakupwanya, Zanu PF Manicaland youth quota Member of Parliament and provincial youth chairperson, spearheaded the project and announced plans to expand it to other districts. He reiterated the President’s call for empowering the youth and emphasized the project’s alignment with that objective.

With this housing initiative, the Zanu PF Provincial Youth League aims to provide tangible support to young individuals in the province and contribute to their empowerment and development.
