A BINDURA woman bashed her son’s former wife in an altercation over groceries she was demanding for the upkeep of her grandchild.
Sheila Kambasha is staying with her grandchild and wanted some groceries from Nono Kiposa, her former daughter-in-law.
Nono is the daughter of radio presenter AK of Sport FM.
Kambasha is expected to appear in court in Bindura tomorrow.
Reports indicate that on February, Nono was with her current husband when she received a call from Kambasha who said she wanted an emergency meeting concerning the child.
They met at Nono’s parents’ house in Chiwaridzo Phase 2, Bindura, where Kambasha then started complaining that Nono was no longer maintaining the child the way she used to.
“Nono gave an excuse that she was not bringing the groceries for the child because she was not feeling well.
“Nono was beaten in front of her mother, son and other siblings.
“Nono couldn’t fight back nor defend herself since she was still recovering from surgery.”
She reported the case at Chiwaridzo police station, leading to Kambasha’s arrest.
“Nono doesn’t understand why the grandmother is demanding groceries for the child yet the father of the child is a civil servant and still single that he doesn’t have other responsibilities to cater for.” HMetro.
