Police launch manhunt for hit-and-run driver who fatally struck pedestrian in Chitungwiza
Police are hunting for a motorist who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian (40) in a tragic hit-and-run incident. The incident took place near Sandas Johane Masowe Wechishanu Church in Chitungwiza, Harare, on March 1, 2024.
In an official statement, the police confirmed that they are investigating the fatal road traffic accident. The victim was hit by an unknown motorist along an unnamed dust road, and unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Shockingly, the motorist failed to stop or report the incident.
“Police in Harare are investigating a fatal hit-and-run road traffic accident in which a man (40) died on the spot after being hit by an unknown motorist on 01/03/24 along an unnamed dust road, near Sandas Johane Masowe Wechishanu Church, Chitungwiza. The motorist did not stop after the accident. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” reads the statement.
