In a disturbing turn of events, police in Gokwe South District are currently investigating a suspected murder case after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered floating in a sewer pond. The grim discovery was made by a villager who was herding cattle on the evening of 9th January 2024, at approximately 6 PM.
With the victim’s identity unknown, authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased. Midlands Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mohoko, urged anyone with information or a missing female relative in the age range of 18 to 21 years to come forward and contact the Zimbabwe Republic Police in Gokwe.
“The body has not been identified and no one came to claim it. We thus appeal for the public to help us,” said Midlands Police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mohoko
“Those with a missing female relative of approximately 18 to 21 years of age may approach Zimbabwe Republic Police, Gokwe, for assistance. Detective Constable Madhongo of Criminal Investigations Department Gokwe is the investigating officer,” he said.
