Tragic Outcome: Two more victims succumb to injuries following petrol explosion
In a devastating turn of events, two more victims involved in a petrol explosion last Saturday have tragically passed away. One person lost their life immediately at the scene, while the remaining two, who were swiftly rushed to the hospital after the containers of petrol ignited at a residence in Chikangwe suburb, succumbed to their injuries this morning.
The incident occurred during illicit fuel transactions, shedding light on the persistent issue of clandestine fuel dealings in the Chikangwe and Chiedza suburbs of the town. Despite efforts to curb these underhanded activities, they persist unchecked.
Abel Matsika, a former Karoi mayor and resident, confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that the families of the two deceased had confirmed their untimely demise. At the time of reporting, the police had not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
This unfortunate incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers associated with illegal fuel practices and the urgent need for preventive measures to address this ongoing problem.
