In a shocking incident, a doctor has been accused of ƨǝxuɑlly assaulting a 13-year-old patient at his surgery, turning what should have been a safe and trusted environment into a nightmare for the young girl. The alleged incident took place at Binga Medical Centre, where 58-year-old Doctor Jabulani Dube runs a private practice.

According to the prosecution’s case, the girl visited the doctor’s surgery on 7 February for a review appointment accompanied by her aunt. However, Dube rescheduled the appointment to 8:30 pm, claiming he needed privacy. Disturbingly, he asked the patient’s aunt to wait outside while he examined the young girl.

It is suspected that Dube used this privacy as an opportunity to commit the heinous act. Allegedly, he asked the minor to undress for the examination, and she complied, thinking it was a routine part of the process. The prosecution stated that the doctor then proceeded to molest her, causing the girl to scream. Her aunt, alarmed by the commotion, rushed to check on her niece and discovered the horrifying situation. The girl managed to escape, and the aunt immediately reported the incident to the authorities.

“The doctor asked the minor to remove her skin tight and her panties and she complied as she thought that it was part of the examination. The minor was also asked to open her legs whilst she was waiting to be checked the doctor unzipped his trouser and molested her,” read a court record.

“When the child felt something, she screamed which made her aunt to check what was happening only to find out that the doctor was trying to block the minor and the minor ran away.”

Dube was subsequently arrested and appeared in court on charges of rape. He remains in custody, and his next court appearance is scheduled for 22 February at the Hwange Magistrate court.
