In a move to revamp its organizational structure, Zanu PF has initiated preparations for the upcoming District Coordinating Committee (DCC) elections. The party’s Secretary General, Dr Obert Mpofu, confirmed this development in an interview this morning, shedding light on the ongoing restructuring process after the expiration of the current members’ term last year.
“We have started the restructuring of our structures from cell to district level in preparation for the DCC elections because their term of office has expired. Before we conduct elections for the DCCs, we need to ensure that the cells, branches and districts are fully structured,” Mpofu stated.
According to Mpofu, the process has just commenced and is expected to be completed within the first quarter of this year. The National Political Commissar, Cde Mike Bimha, has already communicated these activities to the lower structures through the respective provinces.
“The dates for conducting the DCC elections will be announced as soon as we have sorted out the lower structures for a proper process to be conducted,” he emphasised,” emphasized Mpofu.
Zanu PF, as Zimbabwe’s ruling party, recognizes the significance of engaging its members at all levels to foster unity, participation, and effective governance. The DCC elections present an opportunity for party members to elect representatives who will champion their concerns and aspirations within the party’s decision-making forums.
With the promise of an imminent announcement regarding the DCC election dates, Zanu PF remains focused on strengthening its foundation and ensuring a vibrant and representative party structure.
