Thieves break into school, make off with laptop and valuables
In a disturbing incident, thieves reportedly targeted Jiba Primary School in Insuza, allegedly stealing a school laptop and various personal items on Thursday night.
The school’s headmaster, Ophias Dube (53), had securely locked his office door before leaving for the day.
However, when Dube arrived at the school on Friday morning, he was met with an unsettling sight — the door to his office was wide open. It quickly became apparent that the office had been burglarized, as several items were missing. Among the stolen possessions were a black HP laptop belonging to the school, a portfolio bag containing Dube’s important identity documents, and his bank cards.
Concerned about the incident, Dube promptly reported the unlawful entry and theft to the local authorities at ZRP Insuza. The police have since initiated an investigation into the matter. Inspector Glory Banda, the Matabeleland North Province Police Spokesperson, confirmed that they had received the report and assured the public that efforts were underway to apprehend the culprits.
