In a disturbing turn of events, the lifeless body of an 18-month-old baby boy was discovered burnt and in an advanced state of decomposition, hanging from a tree near Muzvezve River in Battlefields, Kadoma. The police have swiftly launched investigations into this horrifying murder.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, confirmed the tragic incident, stating that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the case. The identity of the infant victim remains unknown at this time.
“The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding a case of murder in which the body of a yet-to-be-identified male infant approximately one-year-six months old was found hanging from a tree near Muzvezve River, Battlefields in Kadoma on January 30, 2024.
“The body of the victim was burnt and at an advanced state of decomposition,” he said.
