4 arrested for smuggling vehicles across undesignated point of entry in Plumtree”
In a recent operation, law enforcement authorities apprehended four individuals on charges of smuggling three motor vehicles through an undesignated point of entry in the Nswazi area of Madlambuzi, Bulilima. The suspects, identified as Peter Ndlovu (20), David Mazararire (22), Ndumiso Mudenda (36), and Norman Farai Nhunge (31), were taken into custody at different locations along the Bulawayo-Plumtree road.
According to police reports, Ndlovu and his accomplice were intercepted at the 17-kilometre mark on the Bulawayo-Plumtree highway. The authorities in Plumtree, conducting an anti-smuggling motorised patrol, successfully apprehended the quartet. Further details revealed that Mazararire and Mudenda were caught driving a Honda Fit vehicle with foreign number plates at the 43-kilometre mark along the same road.
Similarly, Nhunge was intercepted at the 17-kilometre mark while driving a Toyota Vitz vehicle with foreign number plates. Ndlovu, driving a Honda Fit vehicle, was also caught at the 17-kilometre mark on the Bulawayo-Plumtree Road.
The police confirmed that the suspects did not possess Temporary Import Permits or vehicle registration books for the smuggled vehicles.
