Two brothers arrested for cultivating cannabis on their property
The Marondera Police arrested brothers Edwin Chibanda (38) and Bornwell Chibanda (34) this week for illegally growing mbanje at their homestead. The arrest was prompted by a tip-off from local community members.
Upon entering the property, officers discovered approximately 50 cannabis plants that had been planted by the brothers. Police also found a plastic bag containing dried mbanje inside Bornwell Chibanda’s home.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi confirmed the arrests. He commended the public for providing valuable information to law enforcement. Tip-offs from citizens have helped police identify and shut down drug operations within neighbourhoods, said Inspector Chazovachiyi.
