Marlion “Svuubs” Svuure is struggling with immense grief after the unexpected passing of his beloved wife Petronella. The South African-based musician, known for hits like “Kutsanyira Vavengi” and “Jehovha Munondigonera”, is in mourning following Petronella’s sudden death at just 42 years old.
In a heartbreaking statement, Svuure explained that Petronella fell ill while at her job on January 22nd. Though she initially complained of neck pain and a headache, her condition rapidly deteriorated and she lost consciousness. She was rushed to RK Khan Hospital in Chatsworth, Durban, where she was later transferred to King Edwards Hospital. She died on January 23. Doctors have been unable to determine the cause of her passing.
Svuure and Petronella shared 11 loving years of marriage and had two children together — Mudiwa and Tadiwa. “I am trying to be strong, but it’s not easy. She will be buried in Nyanga most probably on February 3,” Svuure said through tears.
