Redcliff mayor and CCC Ward 3 Councillor, Clayton Masiyatsva, has sadly passed away. The mayor collapsed and was rushed to Topomas Clinic Wednesday afternoon, where he was pronounced dead upon admission.
Cllr Masiyatsva, who had served as mayor for three consecutive terms in the dormitory town, had been battling an undisclosed illness for some time. The acting Town Clerk, Mr Nyararai Gomba, confirmed the sudden and heartbreaking news, expressing their hopes for his recovery until the unfortunate turn of events.
“I confirm that Cllr Masiyatsva passed on this afternoon upon admission at Topomas Clinic in Kwekwe. He has not been well since the end of last year and we thought he would recover but unfortunately, it has come to this,” said Mr Gomba.
