State requests mental examination for kombi driver accused of kidnapping 25 pupils
The State has submitted an application to have Samuel Honde, the 60-year-old kombi driver accused of kidnapping 25 pupils from David Livingstone School, undergo a mental examination due to signs of instability.
During his court appearance yesterday afternoon, Honde was remanded in custody until February 2. Prosecutor Kelvin Munyimi requested a mental examination for Honde, citing his apparent display of mental illness.
Honde’s legal representative, Malvern Mapako, consented to the application for his client to undergo the mental examination.
