A man who was reportedly assaulted with iron bars by a group of four individuals has tragically passed away while receiving treatment at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital. The incident occurred on January 13 at a nightclub located in Area 14, Dangamvura, Mutare.
The victim has been identified as John Maparara, aged 31. The suspects responsible for the attack remain unidentified and are currently at large.
According to police reports, John Maparara succumbed to his injuries while admitted at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital on January 16, 2024. The brutal assault took place on January 13, 2024, when four unknown assailants attacked him with an iron bar at the aforementioned nightclub in Area 14, Dangamvura.
“John Maparara (31) died whilst admitted at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital on 16/01/24 24 after being attacked by four unknown suspects with an iron bar at a night club in Area 14, Dangamvura on 13/01/24,” reads the statement.
Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation has been urged to visit the nearest Police Station.
