Beitbridge man at large after allegedly attacking spouse over infidelity suspicions
In a distressing incident, a 41-year-old man from Beitbridge is currently on the run from the police after allegedly assaulting his spouse amid accusations of infidelity. The Matabeleland South province police released a statement yesterday, shedding light on the incident involving Muraka Moyo and his partner, Retsoho Tlou.
According to the authorities, the assault took place on January 6, following a heated argument between the couple. The simmering tension eventually erupted into a violent brawl.
During the altercation, the suspect reportedly grabbed a machete and viciously struck Retsoho Tlou three times, causing injuries to her leg, arm, and body. Following the assault, a report was promptly filed with the police. However, the alleged perpetrator managed to evade capture and is presently at large.
“The suspect was making allegations of infidelity on the complainant during the time he worked and lived in South Africa,” read the statement.
“Tension reportedly then escalated, leading to a violent brawl.
“The two quarrelled and the suspect took a machete and struck the complainant three times on the leg, arm and body. A report was made and the suspect escaped and is currently on the run. The victim was referred to Beitbridge District Hospital for treatment,” the police said.
