Security guard loses service pistol to ƨǝx worker after failing to pay
A security guard based in Mutoko found himself in a difficult situation when he lost his service pistol to a commercial ƨǝx worker after failing to pay for her services.
The guard, identified as Evidence Mangonono (27), had engaged the services of a ƨǝx worker known only as Choice. The incident took place near a bank where Mangonono was assigned to provide security.
According to reports, after engaging in ƨǝxuɑl activity with Choice, Mangonono was unable to pay for her services. Seizing the opportunity, the ƨǝx worker took off with his service pistol as collateral.
The matter was brought before the Mutoko Magistrates’ Court, where Magistrate Chiedza Gatsi sentenced Mangonono to one year in prison for violating the Firearms Act. However, Gatsi suspended the sentence, and instead, the guard will perform 325 hours of community service at Hurungwe Primary School in Murewa.
The prosecution presented the case, stating that on January 7 of this year, Mangonono consumed ƨǝx-enhancing herbs with his colleagues before hiring the ƨǝx worker. The ƨǝxuɑl encounter took place behind the bank he was assigned to guard. Following their interaction, Mangonono failed to fulfill his payment obligation, leading the ƨǝx worker to take his service pistol as compensation. The next day, Mangonono’s employer discovered the missing firearm and promptly reported it to the police.
In an attempt to retrieve the gun, Mangonono later made contact with Choice and paid her to return the weapon.
The State was represented by Nathan Majuru during the court proceedings.
