In a harrowing incident, an elderly man, aged 102, was tragically discovered lifeless on the floor of his bedroom in Bikita, surrounded by a pool of blood. The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, had a deep cut on his forehead, indicating a violent attack.
Authorities from the local police department, in a statement released on X, confirmed that they are treating the case as a murder investigation. The distressing incident is believed to have occurred on Sunday, casting a somber cloud over the peaceful community.
“The ZRP is investigating a murder case in which the body of a 102-year-old man was found lying on the floor in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the forehead in his bedroom hut in Bikita on 07/01/24. Police recovered an approximately 1.2 m blood stained log beside the body,” reads the statement.
