Kariba man goes on the run after stealing over US$15,000 from money transfer company

While the country was immersed in the New Year’s festivities, a 23-year-old man from Kariba was devising a plan to pilfer more than US$15,000 from a prominent money transfer company, Mukuru. Blessed Chanetsa successfully escaped with a staggering sum of US$15,181, originally intended for disbursement in Kariba.

Since the incident, the employee has evaded capture, prompting the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to initiate an intensive manhunt to bring him to justice.

In an official statement, the ZRP appealed to the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of Blessed Chanetsa: “The ZRP is looking for a Mukuru employee, Blessed Chanetsa (23) who went missing with US$15 181 meant for disbursement to clients in Kariba on 01/01/24. Anyone with information on his whereabouts to report at any nearest police station.”
