Tragedy unfolds as man charged with fatally stabbing 13-year-old girl in Harare
In a harrowing incident that has shocked the community, a man has been charged with the murder of a 13-year-old girl at Glen Norah B Flats in Harare. Munyaradzi Steven Mugariri, aged 27, was apprehended after being caught red-handed having lula lula with the minor.
Following the discovery, Mugariri allegedly resorted to self-harm, resulting in hospitalization.
Yesterday, from his hospital bed at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, Mugariri faced charges related to the tragic incident. The accused is accused of fatally stabbing the young girl using a knife. The details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation.
During the court proceedings, which took place before Mbare magistrate Mr Batanai Madzingira, Mugariri was remanded in custody until January 11, 2024. The tragic nature of the case has left the community in shock and mourning for the loss of a young life.
