Family members, friends, and a host of renowned artists gathered throughout the night to pay tribute to Tichaona Terrence Green, widely known as Terry Gee, in a heartfelt send-off.
The extraordinary singer, who graced the world from August 6, 1987, until his passing on December 16 of this year, left an indelible mark on the music industry and the hearts of many.
Among the esteemed attendees were Derick Mpofu, Lady Squander, Leonard Zhakata, Maskiri, Culture Love, Chipo the Trouble Causer, Svinurai, and Dhimba, who joined the somber procession to honor Terry Gee’s memory.
Terry Gee rose to prominence through his remarkable collaborations with Chipo Muchegwa, producing hits like “Ndezvemoyo,” “Makafanana,” and “Zimusoro.” His performances at both public and private events left a lasting impression on audiences.
NewsDay Life & Style closely followed the funeral service, capturing the poignant moments as loved ones delivered touching eulogies.
Bishop Believe Paradise, who presided over the service, urged the congregation, especially the youth, to embrace self-control and discipline while pursuing their own career aspirations.
Paradise shared that Terry Gee had been a committed member of the church’s praise and worship choir, seldom missing a service unless work obligations demanded his attention. He stressed the significance of familial support in achieving one’s goals.
“I recognised Terry in a Praise and Worship. He was feeling dejected because a popular producer had refused to accept his feel of music. I would like to thank Tinotenda Green, who supported Terry’s music through dance routines. Tinotenda choreographed the Chamunyurududu dance. Behind Terry’s music there was Tinotenda. She really deserves a better life..”
As Terry Gee’s life was celebrated and memories were shared, his influence as a talented artist and his unwavering spirit served as an inspiration to all. His legacy will continue to resonate within the music industry and the hearts of those who cherished his miraculous journey.
