Robbers strike Total Energies fuel garage in Mkoba, escaping with US$6,000

In a daring midnight heist, a Total Energies fuel garage in Mkoba fell victim to a group of unidentified robbers who made off with a substantial sum of US$6,000 in cash.

According to Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the incident unfolded when the robbers arrived at the fuel garage around midnight, masquerading as customers in need of fuel.

“The security guard indicated that the garage had closed. They then bundled the security guard, tied his legs and hands with his boots shoe laces. They then got access to the manager’s office where they blasted a safe before they got away with US$6 000 cash.”

Inspector Mahoko further emphasized the importance for businesses to utilize formal banking channels for depositing their funds, urging heightened vigilance in the face of such criminal activities.
