In a tragic incident that occurred on November 25, 2023, at approximately 11:30 am, a Ford Ranger double cab vehicle veered off the road, rolled, and landed on its wheels along the Mberengwa-West Nicholson Road. The devastating accident resulted in the loss of four lives and left two individuals injured.
According to a statement released by the police, the fatal road traffic accident took place at the 27-kilometer peg along the aforementioned road. The bodies of the deceased were transported to the Zvishavane District Hospital Mortuary. Meanwhile, the two injured victims were admitted to the same hospital for medical treatment and care.
Police confirmed the details of the accident, stating that the Ford Ranger double cab vehicle had veered off the road to the right, leading to its subsequent overturning and eventual landing on its wheels.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident in which four people were killed whilst two others were injured when a Ford Ranger double cab vehicle veered off the road to the right before overturning and landing on its wheels at the 27-kilometer peg along Mberengwa –West Nicholson Road on 25/11/23 at around 1130 hours. The bodies were taken to Zvishavane District Hospital mortuary for post mortem whilst the injured are admitted at the same hospital,” reads the statement.
