A devastating incident unfolded at Mahofisi Business Centre in Zaka, as a jealous man took the life of a suspected rival suitor with a single head-butt.
George Machinga (38), driven by suspicions of an affair between his wife and Peter Mugorogogodi (45), tragically struck Mugorogogodi on the face, resulting in fatal consequences.
According to a statement released by the police, the incident occurred on November 4, 2023. Machinga allegedly confronted Mugorogogodi at Mahofisi Business Centre, where the fatal head-butt was delivered. Despite being immediately rushed to Masvingo Provincial Hospital for medical treatment, Mugorogogodi sadly passed away on November 19, 2023.
The police in Zaka have issued an appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of George Machinga (38), who is now being sought in connection with the murder case. The statement reads, “Police in Zaka are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of George Machinga (38) who is being sought in connection with a case of murder in which Peter Mugorogogodi (45) died on 19/11/23 upon admission at Masvingo Provincial Hospital after being head-butted on the face on 04/11/23 at Mahofisi Business Centre, Zaka. The suspect had accused the victim of having an affair with his wife. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.”
