Terrifying home invasion: Bulawayo family bound and robbed by gun-wielding masked men
In a horrifying ordeal, a family in Bulawayo’s Barbourfields suburb is recovering after three balaclava-clad men armed with a gun broke into their home, tied them up with wire, and stole US$350. The chilling incident, confirmed by Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube, has left the community on edge.
According to a close source, the armed robbers smashed a window pane to gain entry into the house. Without hesitation, they proceeded to the sitting room where three family members were sleeping peacefully. Abruptly awakened, the terrified victims were immediately bound together with a wire.
Under the threat of violence, the robbers forced the family members into another room where their elder sister was sleeping. In a terrifying display, the intruders brandished their weapons and demanded money, threatening to take her life if she didn’t comply. Overwhelmed with fear, she surrendered US$350, which she had been keeping in a small box.
But the horrors didn’t end there. The assailants then proceeded to another room where additional family members were sleeping. They subjected them to the same ordeal, binding them with wire and demanding money. When the family members pleaded that they had no money, the robbers snatched a cellphone before fleeing the scene.
After the robbers made their escape, the traumatized family managed to free themselves from their restraints and promptly reported the incident to the police. Inspector Abednico Ncube has confirmed that a full investigation is underway, and he urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the pursuit of the suspects.
