Temba Mliswa, the former legislator for Hurungwe West and Norton constituencies, has set his sights on the revitalization of Zimbabwe’s tourism sector as he turns his attention to his Karoi property.
Following his political setback in the recent elections, Mliswa has shifted his focus to the hospitality and tourism industry, injecting new life into his Spring Resort located just outside the small farming town.
With its grand reopening scheduled for tomorrow, the newly refurbished Spring Resort is embracing sustainable practices by running on solar power. In a statement released by the resort’s management, they expressed their readiness to breathe new life into Karoi and contribute to the country’s tourism sector. The resort aims to serve as a convenient stopover for travelers en route to popular destinations such as Binga, Kariba, and Mana Pools.
Not only will the facility cater to domestic travellers, but it also aims to provide a comfortable stay for those journeying to and from neighbouring countries such as Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Tanzania.
“After the slumber effect of the Covid-19 era on hospitality, Spring Resort, and Wellness Centre has finally made the town dream of world-class services and products in the Mashonaland West town a reality. The lodge boasts of 10 rooms and a thatched restaurant offering fine dining experience at reasonable prices,” the statement highlighted.
While the resort has been in existence for some time, recent enhancements have elevated its offerings, including the addition of waterfront chalets, a fitness and wellness center, and a wedding venue. These upgrades have positioned the facility as a provider of top-notch services.
In an effort to promote physical well-being and team building, the resort now boasts a fully equipped gym with workout machines, with renowned coach TP Mliswa available to guide corporate teams through invigorating exercises.
Mr. Elyson Chigerwe, the acting provincial head of the Ministry of Tourism, commended the active participation of industry players, emphasizing that their efforts align with the government’s commitment to enhancing the tourism sector.
The launch of the revamped Spring Resort is expected to attract prominent figures, including industry leaders, government officials, and stakeholders in the hospitality sector, all of whom recognize the importance of promoting tourism in Mashonaland West.
Through his investment in the Spring Resort, Temba Mliswa is not only rejuvenating his own business but also demonstrating his optimism and dedication to contributing to the growth and transformation of Zimbabwe’s tourism industry.
