Tragic Accident Claims 22 Lives and Leaves 2 Injured on Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road
In a devastating incident that occurred last night, a fatal road traffic accident has claimed the lives of 22 individuals, while leaving two others critically injured.
The accident occurred on 14th November 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m. near Thandweni Store, situated at the 27th kilometer peg along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road.
The collision involved a Toyota Quantum minibus, carrying 21 passengers, and a DAF truck, with one passenger on board. The two vehicles collided head-on, causing immense damage and resulting in the tragic loss of lives.
The injured victims have been rushed to the United Bulawayo Group of Hospitals.
“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 14/11/23 at around 2200 hours at the 27 kilometre peg along Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road near Thandweni Store in which 22 people were killed whilst two others were injured when a Toyota Quantum vehicle with 21 passengers on board was involved in a head on collision with a DAF truck with one passenger on board.
“The injured victims are admitted at United Bulawayo Group of Hospitals. More details to be released in due course,” reads the police statement.
