Mutare-based founder of Living Waters Ministries, Apostle Christoper Mudavarima, has been accused of promising marriage to women in his church before asking for money to seed the relationships.
His church operates in Penhalonga.
He allegedly targeted single mothers and offered to marry some of them next month.
Victims say Mudavarima has been using the name of Apostle Vutabwashe.
One victim posted pictures of Mudavarima in a WhatsApp group, and the church leader tried to cover things up by removing everyone from the group.
Mudavarima denies the allegations, but admitted having cheated some women.
“What they are saying are all lies, but I double crossed three different women so they teamed up to fabricate these stories.
“It’s Maggie who opened my phone and found out that I was dating Candy and Claris,” he said.
All hell broke loose when one of the victims, who refused to be named, posted some pictures of the apostle in a church WhatApp group.
“This man is a womaniser, he has been proposing to different women in church.
“The beans were spilled in the church group where one woman posted pictures, and some chats, of his shenanigans.
“He immediately removed everyone from the group.
“Apostle Christopher has been promising to marry anyone he goes out with.
“He promised marriage to a lot of girls and has been asking people to contribute money under the name Apostle Vutabwashe.
“People have been making contributions to him thinking the money will reach Apostle Vutabwashe. Akavhara vanhu vakawanda mari dzawo,” she said.
Another victim said:
“To be honest, I am the one who spilled the beans after he lied that he was on the mountain yet he was with another girl in Gweru.
“After I posted the information in the group, several women came to my inbox and confessed to being victims of this man.
“There are women from Zvishavane, Mutare, Chiredzi, Rusape, Greystone Park, Gweru, Bulawayo, Harare and two from South Africa.
“He dates you and claims that Vutabwashe is his mentor and for the relationship to be blessed, we had to seed to the apostle.
“Several women are thanking me following my post.”
A source said the church has virtually been deserted following the drama.
“There were very few people in church on Sunday. He preaches well and unenge uchiti wawanawo murume ari pastor.
“The problem he made was to put everyone he dates in the same group. I am told there is a new group after the original one was deleted,” said the source.
