Appeal for Information: Police Seek Help in Identifying Victims of Hit-and-Run Accidents in Harare

In a distressing turn of events, the police in Harare are urgently appealing for information that could aid in identifying two men who tragically lost their lives in separate hit-and-run accidents. These incidents occurred in different locations within the city.

According to Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, the first incident took place near the intersection of ED Mnangagwa Road and Pauline Drive.

The victim, a man aged between 39 and 46, was involved in a hit-and-run accident that occurred between 1:30 am and 2:40 am on October 5. The police are seeking any details that could help identify the deceased. The victim’s physical description includes dark complexion, medium build, and he was wearing grey jean trousers, a grey t-shirt with small dots, a blue jacket, and black sneakers. The body is currently at the Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary.

In another unfortunate incident, a 36-year-old man was struck by an unknown motorist at the intersection of Malvin Road and Forbes Road in Waterfalls on November 5, 2023. The victim suffered injuries to the eye and nose, and the motorist fled the scene without stopping. The police have initiated an investigation into this hit-and-run incident as well.

Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi urged anyone with information regarding these accidents to come forward and assist the police.
