Blessed Ndlovu, a 38-year-old resident of Bulawayo’s Pumula North suburb, found it difficult to control his anger upon hearing rumours of his wife’s alleged infidelity.
Upon arriving home one evening, his emotions got the best of him, and he confronted his wife, Eppie Ncube, accusing her of being unfaithful.
According to court proceedings, a heated argument ensued between the couple, escalating to a point where Ndlovu physically assaulted Ncube.
Reports indicate that he repeatedly punched and kicked her all over her body, causing her injuries that required medical attention. In a distressing turn of events, while being alone at home, Ndlovu allegedly poured paraffin on his wife’s clothes and set them on fire.
Neighbours quickly responded to the scene and discovered Ndlovu burning his wife’s clothing. Concerned for Ncube’s safety, they promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to Ndlovu’s subsequent arrest. He was brought before Western Commonage magistrate Linear Khumalo, where he faced charges of physical abuse and malicious damage to property.
During the court proceedings, Ndlovu pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him. The magistrate remanded him out of custody until November 6th, when he is scheduled to appear for sentencing.
